About the Role
Skip Capital, the private investment fund of Kim Jackson and Scott Farquhar (co-founder of Atlassian), is hiring a talented listed equities investor to manage our growing listed equities portfolio.

You will join a team that has invested in leading Aussie companies including Canva, SafetyCulture and CultureAmp, and also participated in the renowned global SaaS IPOs of Zoom, Datadog and Cloudflare. We have unique access to thought leaders, tech experts and deal flow, and you will bring your current relationships alongside this to develop insights. We invest in current and future category leaders, with phenomenal founders and management teams.

You’re currently a portfolio manager or a hungry senior analyst ready to take your next step. You aspire to be a world class global technology and software equities investor. You dream of investing with a long term horizon, with less red-tape and no need to fundraise. The primary focus of the role is to invest in software and technology. You will also look for tech opportunities in a broader sense as well as innovative infrastructure, including in the renewables, health & wellness, recycling & waste, water, food, and data infrastructure sectors. Working closely with the CIO/CEO you will be responsible for idea generation, research, valuation, and portfolio execution. You will also get exposure to other asset types including pre-IPO, growth equity and funds.

You are a clear thinker and communicator with the ability to think from first principles. People describe you as a voracious learner. You have a strong track record and you are expected to be right more often than not – but more importantly, learning is in our DNA and we expect you to contribute to that. Our team is small, humble, and growing fast with huge potential, so the ability to work in an unstructured environment is a must. We’re also excited for you to help craft Skip’s culture.

About you
The following skills and attributes are desirable to be considered for this role:

• Experience investing in global listed software and technology stocks, including high growth software that is not yet cash flow positive
• Understanding of SaaS business models
• 8+ years’ experience · Passion for innovation, product-led companies, and identifying long term trends and thematic
• Experience with multiple valuation techniques, including the ability to seamlessly move between reviewing a high growth SaaS company through to a more traditional cash flow generating business
• A pre-existing network of relationships that help you develop unique insights
• Hustle and enthusiasm to meet, share and debate views with other investors and experts and to learn from subject experts, customers, suppliers, and competitors · Ability to creatively source and digest information and quickly research, analyse, model, and develop insights and high-conviction views on existing and new companies
• Ability to stand on the shoulders of giants, as well as apply first principles thinking to problems
• Ability to write clear and concise analysis
• Strong financial background, and appreciation of risk management and portfolio allocation

And possess the following qualities:

• Ability to work autonomously in a small team
• A massive propensity to learn, question and be proven wrong and iterate thinking
• Clear and concise communication
• Culturally relaxed, open, and empathetic
• Long term mindset, and absolute return mentality
• Confidence representing your organisation

Bonus points if you have any of the following:

• Experience investing in renewables, the future of health (eg. precision health, genomics), recycling, waste solutions, water, data infrastructure or other infrastructure companies
• Experience with pre-IPO investing or late stage growth technology investing
• Knowledge of funds, hedging strategies or other products
• Experience in risk management and portfolio allocation
