Our client is one of Australia’s market leading Venture Capital funds. The manager raised its first Venture Credit fund three years ago and is now going to market to raise its second. As part of this growth, we are adding new headcount to the Venture Credit investment team. The fund has an excellent track record in deploying capital to high growth companies in the technology and healthcare sectors. The investment mandate is providing senior secured loans with preferred equity, warrants or options to manage downside. The fund takes a hands on approach in portfolio management and investment managers in the team have board observer responsibilities. The team is highly collegiate across the Sydney and Melbourne offices and has been able to capitalise on its strong Venture Capital reputation to provide founders with an alternative avenue for growth.

• The role will be responsible for end-to-end execution and portfolio management of deals. The candidate should have capability to act as a board observer and have the soft skills to become an originator in time.
• It is most likely the candidate will have 6-9 years’ professional transferrable experience. This could come from a big four accounting firm within the deals, restructuring or debt advisory functions. Candidates from corporate banking (credit), investment banking, debt funds and management consulting will also be considered.
• Ideally, the candidate should come with credit experience and understanding. The candidate should be passionate about tech companies and venture investing, feeling comfortable to utilise their own networks and skills for deal origination.
